History of Angel Heart Mental Health Consulting Services: In 1999 Dr. Lori Williams Dobbs had a vision to provide “tailor-made” mental health services to children, families, group homes, and various other companies. Dr. Dobbs found herself specializing in writing behavioral plans, advocating for children regarding their Individual Educational Plan (IEP), and attending parent-teacher conferences to discuss mental health issues and other problematic behaviors in school settings. As interest and services expanded to include children, family, adult assessments and training, Dr. Dobbs added on associates to help meet consumers’ demands. In 2008, Dr. Dobbs and Associates secured a mental health contract with Delta Sigma Theta Head Start/Pre-school program, providing observations, training, psycho-education to teachers, parents and other Delta staff regarding effective services for children with mental health impairments. Angel Heart Mental Health Consulting Services’ (AHMHCS) mission is to continue to provide “tailor-made” mental health services to all those in need. AHMHCS consist of its founder, Dr. Lori Williams Dobbs, Myisha Driver and Dominique Eugene.

 

Dr. Lori Williams Dobbs graduated from Spelman College with BA in Sociology, attended the University of Guanajuato, Mexico for Spanish Language Program, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Delaware State University with a Masters of Social Work -Specializing in Medical and Mental Health and graduated from Ryokan College School of Psychology with Doctorate of Psychology, specializing in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Dobbs is a Clinical Psychologist and Social Worker for the Department of Mental Health for the County of Los Angeles. She is also an Adjunct Professor of Sociology at Los Angeles Southwest College. She is the founder and owner of Angel Heart Mental Health Consulting Services.

 

Dr. Dobbs has 25 years experience providing services to children, adolescents, adults, families, and trauma patients. She provides training regarding documentation, procedure codes, and quality assurance to mental health providers. She has worked in various emergency rooms and community mental health settings such as residential placement, day treatment, probation, and intensive outpatient and psychiatric units. She also worked as a talk show host for radio and television at Delaware State University radio and television stations. She appeared in Spike Lee’s School Daze movie and interned as assistant to review movies for Radio One.

 

Dr. Lori or Dr. Tigger as affectionately known to her community, is a member of numerous organizations such as Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc., Los Angeles Alumnae chapter, The Wilfandel Club, Spelman College Club, named to Who’s WHO of the Manchester Professional Business Woman 2007-2008, Board member of Powergirls Ministries, PADS (Pan-African Doctoral Students) and Morehouse College Marching Band Alumni Association were she is currently chapter president and was the first female in Morehouse College history to make the “DRUM LINE”. Myisha Driver graduated Cum Laude from Howard University with a BS in Psychology and graduated from National University with MA in Counseling Psychology. Myisha is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist residing in Los Angeles County. She is currently the Program Coordinator and Clinical Supervisor for the Early Intervention Day Treatment Program at a Los Angeles Child Guidance Center. Her experience in Early Intervention includes extensive clinical training in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health and work in school based Early Intervention Programs. Myisha has worked at various levels of mental health and social services in Los Angeles, providing services to culturally diverse individuals, families, and groups. Myisha is an experienced trainer and has presented at local and national conferences. She was a presenter at the California Association for Play Therapy’s Second Annual Southern California Regional Play Therapy Conference in Rancho Cucamonga, CA in June 2007, the Georgetown National Training Institutes Conference in Nashville, Tennessee in July 2008, and the Latino Behavioral Health Conference in Los Angeles, CA in September 2008. Myisha was guest lecturer for students at Southwest Community College as well as graduate Social Work students at California State University Long Beach and USC. In addition Myisha authored continuing education materials on the subject of Infant Mental Health to be used for an online course for Gerry Grossman Seminars. Myisha is very active in the community, serving on the Health Advisory Committeee of the Los Angeles Urban League Head Start and board member of Meredith Health & Wellness. myishadriverlmft@yahoo.com

 

Dominique Eugene graduated from Seton Hall University with BA in Psychology, attended the International Summer School program at University of OSLO in Norway, studying Norwegian Culture & Society, graduated from New York University with MA in Counseling Psychology, (K-12 & College and Community Counseling), has a Certificate in Alternative Nutrition from California State University, Los Angeles, and Nutritional Therapy Practitioner Certificate, from the Nutritional Therapy Association, Inc . Dominique is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, a Registered Play Therapist & Supervisor and Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. She is currently the Clinical Site Manager for Pacific Asian Counseling Services SFV site and Adjunct Faculty for National University.
